Last Day of School!

It was a very special day for all 2I children on the last day of school. Every child was given a card and they took turns to write well-wishes and messages for their classmates. All of them also received a little note of encouragement from me.

In addition, pupils who showed a great improvement in their English and Mathematics results were presented with a certificate of achievement each. I would like to congratulate these pupils and I hope that every child in 2I would continue to do their best in future.

Happy holidays, my dear darlings! It has been a real pleasure teaching all of you. See you in 2011! (:

Maths: The Nines (Nice) Game

2I children had the chance to play The Nines (Nice) Game yesterday.  This is a self-invented class activity that helps to reinforce their learning of the 9 times table. The pupils had to be very alert during the game and anyone caught breaking the rules three times had to perform an item. Judging from their enthusiasm, the children seemed to enjoy the game very much .

In the end, everyone was treated to a special and funny performance by Kyler and Akmal. Kudos to Akmal who gamely volunteered to perform the Robot Dance with Kyler who needed some encouragement.

Dramatisation: Owl Babies

Every child in 2I is a great artist! (:

To prepare the children for the dramatisation of the Big Book story Owl Babies, they were asked to create and design an owl baby each. The children were also encouraged to be as creative as possible and the class ended up with owls of different shapes, sizes and colours! Needless to say, the role play was a success. It was clear that everyone enjoyed the process very much.

A Big Thank You to Everyone!

Dear children,

The exams may have ended but I am sure that you have not and will not forget the encouragement that you have received from your friends. I just want to thank everyone for your hard work. All of you have been such wonderful darlings! (:

Continue to work hard in the years to come and always remember this:

Just do your best and you will be the best!

2I’s Spelling Bees!

Congratulations to the winners of 2I’s Spelling Bee Award! (:

Designing a Weather-Themed Postcard

2I children had fun creating and designing postcards for their classmates yesterday. The theme was on weather, which tied in with the big book that the class was reading. Everyone went home happily with a message from their chosen partners.

Revision for SA2

Dear 2I,

Here’s a reminder that there is no school from 19 – 22 Oct 2010. I hope that you will make use of the 4-day break to do your SA2 revision.

Please take good care of yourselves too. Eat healthily and don’t forget to exercise.

I also wish to share a meaningful video with you. It is about an armless person who has become a pianist through hard work and perseverance. I hope it will encourage you to continue to work hard. Remember, nothing is impossible to a willing heart (:
